A metà strada tra l'antica Tagina ed Helvillum, l'edificio, per non essere più interessato da nessun corso d'acqua, può essere esplorato anche nella parte un tempo immersa nel fiume che superava. Ponendoci sulla sua sommità è facile percepire come la strada fosse perfettamente rettilinea, almeno dall'antica Nuceria Camellaria, oggi Nocera Umbra, fino al villaggio di Ad Ensem, oggi Scheggia.
Come per l'altro ponte romano fossatano, quello di San Giovanni, non è sbagliato né difficile immaginarvi il passaggio di carovane ed eserciti, semplici soldati e imperatori, fino al crollo della parte occidentale dell'Impero, la Guerra Greco-Gotica e la battaglia di Tagina, che secondo Procopio ebbe luogo proprio in questa vallata, tra Helvillum e Tagina, con il decisivo scontro tra Totila e Narsete.

BORRE BRIDGE
Rediscovered by chance at the end of the 1980s, the Roman bridge in the Borre locality was part of the restructured infrastructure in the imperial age and underlines once more the importance of Via Flaminia for Rome. The building is situated halfway between the ancient Tagina and Helvillum, and since it is no longer affected by any watercourse, can also be explored in the part once immersed in the river it crossed. Standing on it, it is easy to imagine how the road was perfectly straight, at least from the ancient Nuceria Camellaria, today Nocera Umbra, up to the village of Ad Ensem, today Scheggia.
As for the other Roman bridge, that of San Giovanni, it is neither wrong nor difficult to imagine the passage of troops and armies, simple soldiers and emperors, until the collapse of the western part of the Empire, the Greco-Gothic War and the battle of Tagina which, according to Procopius, took place in this valley, between Helvillum and Tagina, with the decisive battle between Totila and Narsete.
